A room that goes on forever, floor and walls ruled in black and white. Into it pours a pageant of spiked heads and staring eyes, coils of red unspooling across the tiles. Small beaked figures sit among the wreckage, patient, resigned, as if they’ve been waiting here a very long time. A flower grows anyway.
