Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit kmhoffmann.com, buy a print or get in touch, and what we do with it. “We” means Karl Hoffmann, an artist based in Auckland, New Zealand. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- When you buy a print: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered. Payments are handled by Stripe: we never see or store your card details.
- When you contact us: your name, email address and message.
- When you browse the site: your cart and whether you’ve paused the moving background are saved in your own browser, not sent to us. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps basic technical logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the site.
How we use it
- To make, pack and ship your order, and to email you about it, including the tracking link.
- To answer your messages and handle returns, refunds and damaged prints.
- To keep the business records New Zealand law requires, such as tax records.
We don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve asked for them, and we never sell your information.
Who we share it with
Only the people who need it to complete your order:
- Stripe, to take payment.
- Couriers and postal services, who get your name, address and phone number to deliver your parcel.
- Our partner print studio, for larger prints, which gets the order details it needs to make the print.
Some of these services store information outside New Zealand. We use providers that are required to protect it to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for seven years, as New Zealand tax law requires. Messages are kept for as long as they’re useful for answering you, then deleted.
Your rights
